Dr. Shavayne Lawson

CPO Chief Program Officer & Co-Founder

Dr. Shavayne Lawson is the Chief Program Officer and a co-founder of Love Community Action Center. 

He has expertise in strategic program management, care coordination, social services, managed care organizations and marketing.

Having formerly worked at a non profit in Long Island, New York and also at a start up medical practice in Brooklyn, New York, he had the opportunity of managing outreach projects and care management units whilst developing a strategic framework to boost community engagement, fundraising and social media marketing.

Over the course of his professional journey, Dr. Shavayne developed a strong passion to help end the cycle of socio-economic disparities and crises among seniors and young adults in our communities. By joining hands with a formidable co-founding team of unified vision, he aims to help bridge all gaps inclusive of social determinants and ridges, to empower and improve life outcomes for all individuals, whilst moving the scales from disproportionality to collective adequacy.

As the Chief Program Officer, Dr. Shavayne will oversee the coordination of multiple program areas and will be responsible for ensuring successful cross-coordination between program areas and with other departments. 

The CPO will:

• Report directly to the CEO, liaise with executive team and board of directors regarding all budgetary and programmatic updates. 
• Manage program budgets and coordinate with COO for grant writing for programs, ensuring that they are fully compliant with all regulations and laws.

This will be inclusive of program audits. 

The CPO will also work with the COO to facilitate program audits as well as: 

• Work with executive leadership and board of directors to develop fundraising mechanisms to sustain ongoing program development. 
• Assist the executive leadership team to develop a strategic vision for each program, while ensuring that the long and short term goals are accomplished. 
• Build strong partnerships with business partners, affiliate organizations, and the general public. 
• The CPO will collaborate with and mentor other team members, including program directors and managers to develop and maintain company culture and values. 
• The CPO oversee the full programming operations of the organization, guiding, implementing, and developing new programs. 

Education

• Dr. Shavayne has a dual degree in Counseling Psychology (MA & PhD) along with several certifications in areas of education, leadership, emergency and risk management, entrepreneurship.
